What If You Don’t Have to Know?

What if you don't have to know?

You don't have to know what to do.

You don't have to know what to think.

You don't have to know how to feel.

What if you don't have to know?

Definitively whether or not there is a God.

The right amount of screen time for your kids.

What to say to that family member.

What if you don't have to know?

The perfect number of carbs for your body.

Whether or not you need an S-Corp.

What it means when anyone (ever) mentions bitcoin.

What if you don't have to know?

How other people are choosing to handle their social media consumption.

Every single company's ethical principles and impact on the environment.

Every single Breaking News update.

What if you can't know?

What the President will do next.

Exactly what the next four years will look like.

The future.

What if we can't possibly know how to navigate this moment in human history because it is new to us?

To my knowledge, not a single person alive today has seen this episode.

Watched this exact movie.

Memorized the playbook.

What if it's okay that you don't know?

What if it's normal to feel uncertain?

What if it's impossible to know everything?

What if your fears are the very thing that make you part of a global community of people who are going through the exact same thing that you are?

Well, if that were true, maybe we could all rest a little easier

give ourselves a break

grant ourselves permission

knowing that:

yes, the world is bonkers and we have a lot of valid reasons to feel worried

and

somehow, like every other moment in human history, we will find our way through it.

With grace.

With compassion.

With kindness.

With clear values.

And boundaries.

And doing the next right thing.

I wish this for you.

For me.

For all of us.
